Stability testing is the process of testing whether a cosmetic product will be stable for a given period of time (the shelf life)This means that the product will not change, separate, discolour or develop a bad odour to a degree that is unacceptable to the consumer, for a period of time deemed to be a reasonable shelf life of the product, under conditions which are judged to be normal. Stability testing establishes the safety and quality of the product for the duration of use by a consumer.
