What is Self Regulation?

Self regulation means that the cosmetic industry acts as its own watchdog to ensure that cosmetic manufacturers comply with regulations and requirements for cosmetic products.

Companies and consumers can report other companies whose products cross any boundaries such as making unsubstantiated claims or using banned ingredients.

Complaints are made to and investigated by the Advertising Standards Authority(ASA).(www.asasa.org.za)
